Why should everyone take a multi-vitamin/mineral nutritional supplement?
Due to the state of the current food supply and because very few Americans eat the recommended five daily servings of health-giving fruits and vegetables, nutrition experts agree that a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement should be taken daily. Even the Journal of the American Medical Association – not usually known as a supporter of dietary supplements – agrees that everyone should be taking a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement (JAMA 2002;287:3127-3129). ADDITIONAL WARNINGS
5-methyltetrahydrofolate supplementation is not recommended concurrently with methotrexate cancer therapy, as it can interfere with methotrexate's anti-neoplastic activity; however, this folate source has not been shown to interfere with the anti-inflammatory activity of methotrexate. An individual taking methotrexate for psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis can safely take a supplement containing folate.
